Anabelle's Ears Are Up

Anabelle's ears are up. Thor's are perking up a bit, but not there yet and little Summer Rain has a day or two to go before hers come up. Every day brings new first to the Summer Sables and they get cuter and more ambitious in their daily activities.

Puppy Playtime

The puppies have been really busy. Now that they are eating dog food and going out back regularly to relieve themselves there is never a dull moment. After doing their business they come in and play in their new play pen. It is a family affair with all my frenchies taking part. After play time is over they go back to their whelping box to nap. There has been plenty to do to stimulate them physically as well as mentally.

Two New Firsts Today

The puppies started eating dog food today. Thor and Summer took to it right away, but Anabelle still wanted only mamma's milk. I also took them outside for the first time to work on housebreaking. Summer and Thor picked up right away on what they were supposed to do and scampered around and played and did their business while Anabelle sat there and cried and didn't want to budge an inch. I guess I know who the premadonna in this litter is. Thor and Summer seem fearless as they take in all the new sights and sounds. Eventually Anabelle will come around.

Puppies At Play

The puppies have really been enjoying playing with the toys I have been putting in their whelping box. The problem is that LuLu keeps on taking them away because they are having too much fun with them.

I kept looking at the puppies faces thinking that something looked different. I finally realized what is was. They all have blue eyes. Not sure they will stay that color, but at 3 1/2 weeks old it is definitely an interesting discovery!
