Farewell to Smokey
It is with heavy hearts that everyone at FAYME French Bulldogs bid farewell to Smokey yesterday. He had been sick for quite sometime and finally made his way to heaven. He lived so much longer than anyone expected due to the love of the puppies and my never ending care. Anabelle could be found constantly showering Smokey with kisses, Zolly had desperately wanted him to be the father of all of her puppies and he was Heathcliff's great protector. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, but I am sure he is frolicking right now is the big field in the sky with his mother Goldie and his guardian Lily.

Canine Theriogenology Course
On January 9th I attended a Canine Theriogenology conference at Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine. It was an excellent course on canine reproduction. The things of most interest to me were the anatomy of the bitch and stud, the estrous cycle and spermatogenesis. After the class room session we went to the lab to learn hands on how to collect semen, the proper way to handle it and how to inseminate a bitch. We also learned how to prepare semen for shipping. Those were only some of the highlights of the course so it was an action packed day of learning. Ohio State did a wonderful job hosting this course. I hope I find other courses of interest to take in the future.
